Viva Pinata - hands-on
Put your inner-child to work in a Willy Wonka fantasyland
Make no mistake, Viva Pinata is most definitely designed with the younger crowd in mind, but we found that fact insignificant in comparison to the awesome lure of imposing our will over a handful of candy-packed Fudgehogs. While we found the introductory tutorial portion a little grating due to the constant and un-skippable interruptions by Leafos (our garden tending tutor), it hardly dented our resolve to become ultimate pinata overlords.
We were incredibly surprised at how addictive Viva Pinata was... if you would have asked us at this time last year if we'd like to spend hours planting seeds and digging lakes in the hopes of attracting Syrupent pinatas to our garden, we probably would have turned sharply and strode away from you as quickly as possible figuring you to be a strange and possibly dangerous crazy person.
Viva Pinata has sunk its hooks deep into our hard core gamer hearts, even after our very brief time with the game. We may not have been suckers for Pokemon or fallen for Animal Crossing, but Viva Pinata has somehow managed to pierce our heavily fortified defenses and we eagerly look forward to its November release.
