Vote For Your Favourite TV & Movie Sci-Fi Robots

Time for another ginormous SFX superpoll, and this time we want you to vote for your three favourite sci-fi TV & movie robots!

We’ve already done a call-out on our social networking platforms to compile the list below, but feel free to add more in the free vote area at the bottom of the poll.

There have been a few rules in the selection process:

• No cyborgs (the inclusion of Terminators in the poll covers the pre-cyborg T-800 series) – so no Daleks or Cybermen

• No disembodied AIs, or largely motionless AIs (sorry HAL)

• No primarily human-looking androids or robots that look 90% human – we want proper sci-fi robots in this poll, not just actors with a bit of make-up slapped on (sorry Data), though we made an exception with Marvin because although technically he’s an android and that’s what he’s called, he looks more like a robot to us.

• In a couple of cases, we’ve teamed robots up, simply because it seemed unfair to choose between the them.

So, just to make it clear: vote for your 3 favourite sci-fi TV & movie robots!

You can either tick three of the robots in our shortlist, or tick two and add one suggestion in the free-vote area, or tick one and add two in the free-vote area, or just add all thee suggestions in the free-vote are. Geddit? Good. We’ll add anything that’s getting significant multiple suggestions in the free vote area to the main list as the poll goes on.

So, let the voting commence, and encourage as many people as you know to do likewise.

Results before the end of the month.
