Want a Wii this Christmas?
Then head to Extreme Gamez in Ashby de la Zouch
Nov 29, 2007
Another Christmas rush, another incredible drought of Nintendo Wii hardware. We've spent all of today calling, surfing and exploring in search of just a single Wii console, from Play.com to Dixons online, Amazon to HMV, WHSmiths to Tescos. How many did we find? Not one.
Not until we called Extreme Gamez, an independent game shop in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire. It's got two consoles (two!) in stock that you could walk in and buy right this minute - if you're prepared to splash %26pound;360 on a Wii with five bundled games, that is. Though, with not a single other Wii turning up on our exhaustive trawl, there's hardly any other option.
No doubt Amazon, Game and the like will get smatterings of new stock before Christmas, but if you want our advice (that is why you came here, right?) then here's a tip. Ignore the big boys and head straight to your local independent. Then you can feel smug and socially responsible when playing WiiSports after a Christmas feed.
