Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning - Empire

Player-vs-player lovers go to high alert: massively mulitiplayer online brawl-masters at Mythic Entertainment are steadily putting together their next masterpiece - Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

Sure, the Warhammer name catches our attention for its well-known requirement of authenticity when the beloved tabletop property crosses over to a videogame. But the Mythic Entertainment pedigree stands even taller - Mythic is responsible for the immensely popular Dark Age of Camelot, whose realm-vs-realm combat system still stands as the best example of mass online warfare. So naturally, we knew that Mythic was the ideal candidate to develop the "all war, all the time" Warhammer Online.

Today, we've seen our first images of the Empire realm. While the shots are merely concept art, it marks a milestone in the development of Warhammer Online since it likely means the finishing touches have been put on the Dwarfs and the Greenskin races. Warhammer Online is getting tantalizingly close.

The Empire are the sworn enemies of the swarming Chaos armies, who ally themselves with the bloodthirsty Dark Elves and Greenskins. Warhammer Online won't open its gates until next year, but you can get an early glimpse by hitting the Images tab above.
