Warner Bros passes on Dumb & Dumber sequel
Farrelly Brothers currently looking for new backing
Bad news for fans of OTT man-child capering, as Warner Bros has reportedly passed on the proposed sequel to Dumb & Dumber .
The news comes despite the fact that original stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are thought to have agreed on a return, with the Farrelly brothers in place to direct.
However, all is not lost for the idiotic twosome (that's Harry and Lloyd, not the Farrellys!), with a host of other studios thought to be keen on picking up the project.
According to THR , Warner's interest cooled following the meagre box-office performance of another Carrey-led comedy, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone . Meanwhile, Deadline reports that Red Granite is currently in pole position to snap up the rights instead.
We've been waiting on this one a while now, but despite Warner's cold feet, it doesn't seem as though the boat has been too critically rocked. So long as the two stars remain interested, we'd suggest this one will still be making its way to the big screen before too long.
