Lenny Abrahamson's Oscar-tipped Room gets a new trailer
After garnering heaps of praise and numerous awards at film festivals earlier this year, Room is considered a major contender for next year's Oscars. A lot of the accolades are rightfully being attributed to its two leads, with both Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay giving powerful and affecting performances in the Lenny Abrahamson-directed drama.
Although the film is now out in US cinemas, UK cinemagoers won't be able to see it until 2016. To tide us over until then, StudioCanal have unveiled a new trailer...
For the uninitiated, Room is an adaptation of Emma Donoghue's best-selling novel and centres on a mother (Larson) and her five-year-old son Jack (Tremblay), both of whom have lived in one room since Jack was born. The trailer does a good job of illustrating the powerful relationship between mother and son in addition to teasing Jack's discovery of the outside world. Thankfully, UK cinemagoers won't have to wait too much longer to discover this Oscar hopeful for themselves.
Directed by Abrahamson and starring Larson, Tremblay, Joan Allen, William H. Macy and Matt Gordon, Room is out now in US theatres and will be released in UK cinemas on January 15 2016.
