Week of WoW: The Burning Crusade - Day 4: Zangarmarsh

We headed south thinking that we might just try to hit Terokkar Forest and polish off a quest for Cenarion Refuge. As we neared the homes of some Umbrafen dudes that we had to ruthlessly massacre for the Cenarions, we passed a cave with some strange happenings going on.

There was some kind of mini-war outside Funggor Cavern between shambling Marsh Dredgers (similar to the swamp elementals found in the Wetlands) and tiny Sporeloks. While the Marsh Dredgers appeared to be extremely antagonistic, the Sporeloks seemed indifferent to our presence (or, at least, they didn't attack us on sight like the Dregders).

Clueless as to what was going on, we plunged deeper into the cave to see if it might lead into Terokkar Forest eventually, but it didn't and we almost wound up lost and in the middle of a bloody (or sappy?) conflict. So we decided to jet and continue on to kill those Umbrafen further to the east.

We found the Umbrafen guys in a ramshackle little hut-village where we began to slay them mercilessly. As it turns out, the Umbrafen are a tribe of the Broken - the Draenei that betrayed their own people to the demons of the Burning Legion and ended up being twisted by the foul magic they were exposed to as a reward. After witnessing the gruesome Path of Glory (a road comprised of the bones of Draenei warriors), we had no problem gutting these filthy traitors.

And that was about all we had time for in Zangarmarsh, because as beautiful as it was, we promised you that we'd deliver the skinny on the new raid content tomorrow and we'd hate to disappoint you. Back to Honor Hold we went to prepare for our entrance into Hellfire Citadel... when next you see us, we'll have our "Looking For Group" flag up and our blades well poisoned for the coming challenge.
