Weekend Spent: Oct 20-21 - Are you taking part in Extra Life?
Raising money for charity? Staying up for 24 hours?
Cooper: This weekend will be spent playing Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask which, so far, is very cool. I started it last night and even though I feel like it’s going to take some getting used to, the new mechanics (and 3D visuals) are definitely a neat addition.
Henry: After playing all the way through the outstanding Walking Dead game last weekend, I need something lighter and more colorful to make up for all the dark things I've seen and done. Like Cooper, I'll be playing some Professor Layton, but I'll also be jumping into the Kirby's Dream Collection. 20 years worth of the smiling pink ball should cure my Walking Dead blues.
Ryan: I thought by now I would've finished Resident Evil 6, but man--I can only handle that game for like an hour at a time. It's not that I don't like it, I...think, but it's just exhausting to play. I love the intersecting stories, but when I have to fight the same bullet-sponge bosses like 800 times, I start to go a little crazy. And I swear, if I have to do one more quick-time event to open a friggin' door, I'm gonn--OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
Lucas: Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in. By "they," I mean League of Legends, which I've been playing off and fiendishly on for about three years now. Between the recent conclusion of the Season 2 championships, a slew of new champions (I can no longer pride myself on owning them all), and the revamped Twisted Treeline map (now called the Shadow Isles), it looks like Riot Games has ensnared me once again. Now to get the LoL fever spread throughout the rest of the office...
Lorenzo: Maybe it's because I've been working on the Top 100 video game heroes article this week, but I've had the hankering to go back and play The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for a second time. So, maybe I'll do that this weekend. But if that falls through, there's still plenty of Resident Evil 6 for me to play. Actually, I've been back and forth between so many games it's not even funny. Sleeping Dogs, Guild Wars 2, The Walking Dead: there's not enough time in the day!
Brian: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is due out next month, so it a good time to start preparing for it so I don't end with a negative KDR and getting teabagged every match on release day. It's time to dust off Modern Warfare 3 and PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!

Sterling: Lots going on this weekend. I’ll be participating in Extra Life to raise money for sick children. I’m undecided if I’m going to stream it, but I will probably turn the cameras on around Hour 18 just so everyone can laugh at me as I mumble incoherently while playing You Don’t Know Jack. My playlist includes: FIFA 13, Borderlands 2, and Uncharted 3. I may throw something else in the mix as well, but I’m hoping to go above and beyond my goal. Because when it comes to helping sick kids, I’ll totally give up the best night of my birthday weekend for a good cause!
Sophia: I’m hopping on a plane Saturday and heading to the UK to hang out with Matt, Dave, and Justin, so I’ll be spending this weekend in the air... and sleeping most likely.
So that's what we're doing. What are you playing this weekend? Will you be taking part in Extra Life to raise money for charity?
