Which HBO actress is on the Fantastic Four shortlist?
TV star on for Sue Storm role?
The Fantastic Four reboot has gathered a bit of rumour-momentum, with the news that Allison Williams is on the shortlist for the Sue Storm role.
The news was broken very casually, in the midst of a Deadline story reporting that the actress has bagged the lead role in Rosaline , Fox’s revisionist take on Romeo And Juliet (from the perspective of the first object of flighty Romeo’s affection).
More exciting, however, is the tidbit that Williams is on The Fantastic Four ’s shortlist (which is obviously in its earliest stages).
Currently best known for playing Marnie in HBO ’s Girls , Williams has so far worked solely on TV. Seems Fox aren’t shy of hunting out lesser-known up-and-comers for this reboot.
Given director’s Josh Trank’s take on superheroes in Chronicle , we’re expecting a darker, harder-edged take on the comic quartet than we saw in the previous, family-friendly movies.
The Fantastic Four is expected to open in 2015.
