You’ve got to feel for an actor when they lose out on a high-profile job for the most mundane and bureaucratic of reasons.
But it seems like the fickle finger of immigration document fate has touched David Murray, who was all lined up to play dastardly villain Destro in Stephen Sommers new GI Joe movie, which has just started filming. While Sommers and the studio wanted him for the part, he apparently had some issues getting a work visa for the US.
They’ve decided to recast the role and plumped for fellow Brit Christopher Eccleston, last seen in The Dark Is Rising. Let’s hope Joe turns out a little more successful for him – he hasn’t had a lot of luck with movies since his stint as Dr Who…
