“Oh my lord I’ve turned into a duck!” Why Dragon Quest Heroes 2’s multiplayer mode isn’t what you’d expect
We take on the Dragon Quest Heroes 2 multiplayer challenge - can our plucky adventurers survive in the Domain of the Dead?
Dragon Quest Heroes 2 is boisterous hack and slash game set in the legendary Dragon Quest universe. And while the main series has always been about deep, involving RPG adventures, this cheerful action game is closer to the successful Dynasty Warriors series, letting you cut down swathes of enemies in a bold fantasy world. Best of all, you don’t have to adventure alone: you can now team up with three friends to annihilate armies of (actually very cute) monsters together. No, you don’t need to feel guilty. They’re monsters.
To test it out, we recruited four plucky heroes to take on the Domain of the Dead - a challenging, four-stage dungeon that tests players in a variety of incrementing challenges. Did they manage it? Or did they fail miserably? Well, you’ll just have to watch the video below and find out, although you can probably guess already...
Think you could do better? Dragon Quest Heroes 2 comes out on PS4 and PC this week. Grab three brave friends, load up your Scarface crossbow (okay, it's not really called that) and step into a world of high adventure and monsters you’ll feel bad about killing.
