Will and Jaden Smith team up for M Night Shyamalans sci-fi
“It’s my dream project,” says director
Will Smith is joining forces with his actor son Jaden for M. Night Shyamalan’s untitled new sci-fi.
The two have starred together before in emotional drama The Pursuit Of Happyness , while 12-year-old Jaden went on to massive success last year with reboot The Karate Kid .
Evidently director Shyamalan – who’s taken a critical drubbing after The Last Airbender – is relieved/grateful that he can still land big stars despite releasing a string of movie duds.
“The chance to make a scary, science-fiction film starring Jaden and Will is my dream project,” the director says.
Though the film as yet remains untitled, a new press release has revealed the film’s general plot, which is set 1,000 years in the future, where a father and son’s space ship crashes on an abandoned, eerie Earth.
There, the young boy attempts to navigate the globe in order to save himself and his father.
