Will Arnett talks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Says his version of Vernon will be less of a wimp
The addition of Will Arnett to the forthcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot was a massive tick in its favour, and according to Arnett, his character will be a little different to the version we know from the comic books.
Arnett plays Vernon Fenwick, the cowardly cameraman who frequently tries to steal credit for April O'Neil's stories. However, in the movie version, he will apparently be far less of a wimp…
"In this version, Vernon is April’s cameraman, so they work together as opposed to him being her adversary," says Arnett. "He’s a little reluctant when she starts talking about [ how ] she found these vigilantes and they’re turtles and all this stuff and he kinds of looks at her like she’s crazy."
"Once the action gets going and she kind of gets in trouble, Vernon steps up and helps her and then he becomes part of it as well. He helps April help the Turtles."
"There’s some really great action sequences that I’m super psyched for people to see," continues Arnett. "They were really fun to shoot; very physically demanding… I’m not going to say I’m an action star, but it was fun being in it."
Directed by Jonatahn Liebesman and co-starring Megan Fox, William Fichtner and Mos Def, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will open in the US on 6 June 2014, with a UK release on 16 May 2014.
