Will Ferrell goes Semi-Pro
He’s lacing up his basketball boots for another sports comedy
Will Ferrell must be trying to get into the Guinness World Records for Most Sports Comedies In A Two-Year Period.
He’s already appeared in Kicking And Screaming and Talladega Nights and has recently been shooting ice-skating comedy Blades Of Glory. And now Hollywood’s Busiest Funny Man™ is hitting the basketball court for New Line’s Semi-Pro.
Woody Harrelson – who knows a little bit about shooting hoops from his role in White Men Can’t Jump - will co-star in the tale set in the world of the American Baseball Association, a sports league that’s been in mothballs for a good few years. It follows an owner-coach-player called Jackie Moon, who leads his team (the Flint Michigan Tropics) in a quest to play the league champions.
New Line executive Kent Alterman is swapping his business suit for a megaphone to direct Old School scribe Scot Armstrong’s script. Wonder if he’ll give himself really bad notes about how he should shoot the film…
