Winona Ryder has The Last Word
She’s joining a quirky romantic dramady. Is that even a proper genre?
After a few years of post-shoplifting scandal career rehab, Winona Ryder fans will be happy to hear she’s still managing to find work. Her latest job will find her playing opposite Ray Romano and Wes Bentley in strange romantic comedy-drama The Last Word.
Geoffrey Haley, who usually spends his time operating the camera on other films (such as the recent Crank), is upgrading to writer/director for the movie. And strange how, you ask? Well, it features Bentley as a reclusive writer who spends his days penning suicide notes for other people. But when he starts up a passionate romance with Ryder’s character – who also happens to be the sister of one of his dead clients – he finally begins to experience life.
It’s not known whether Everybody Loves Raymond star Romano will be bringing his comedy chops to the indie movie, or trying his hand at a deep dramatic role, but we do know that Haley will start shooting later this month in LA.
