The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt leaks two weeks before launch
We've barely had time to process Conan O'Brien's glowing and hilariously awkward endorsement of The Witcher 3, but the upcoming action RPG from CD Projekt is already in the news again. This time, it's for a much less adorable reason: the full retail version has been leaked, and spoiler-tastic footage is already making its way online. This is why we can't have nice things.
Rumor of the title being sold prematurely by retailers in the United Arab Emirates was originally posted on the official CD Projekt Red forums. It didn't seem credible though, until footage of the game began showing up on various Twitch channels.
The offending streams have since been removed, and Twitch has issued a warning to anyone who attempts to follow in their stead, so it looks like the footage is no more. But spoiler-filled images from those streams are still at large, and more may pop up at any time. If you're a Witcher fan who absolutely must sit down to Wild Hunt with as little prior knowledge as possible, maybe avoid the internet for a while. I'd suggest taking up Sudoku for a few weeks, or knitting, or maybe archery.
