Wonder Womans origin story in Batman v Superman revealed?
Producer Charles Roven spills the beans
While we already knew that Wonder Woman would be making an appearance in Batman v Superman , it had previously been unclear what sort of origin story the character would be given.
However, producer Charles Roven has now confirmed that Wonder Woman will be presented as “a demigod”, continuing to explain that she is “the daughter of Zeus”.
That marks something of a departure from the Amazonian legend of the character’s initial origin story, which saw her created by Hippolyta from the soul of the unborn daughter of the first woman to ever be murdered by a man.
Perhaps Warner thought that would be too outlandish a concept to portray on the big screen, although given its cast of characters, realism is a relative concept for a film like this…
In any case, Gal Gadot will have godly blood running through her veins when she lines up alongside Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill. Batman v Superman opens in the UK on 25 March 2016.
