Woody Harrelson's boarding the Trans-Siberian Express
A new thriller from Machinist man Brad Anderson
Ah, trains. A sedate and civilised way to travel across country, provided you don’t actually live in Britain. In some other countries, the world of rail travel is seen as classy and luxurious. But for Woody Harrelson and Samantha Morton, their trip on the Trans-Siberian route from China to Russia is headed for mayhem, madness and murder.
But then, what were they expecting when they boarded a ride that will be driven by Brad Anderson, who turned Christian Bale into a living skeleton for The Machinist? Thomas The Tank Engine?
Anderson’s latest, the not-very-surprisingly titled Trans-Siberian finds a married couple (Harrelson and Morton) enjoying some much-needed rest and relaxation on board, and finding travelling companions in Kate Mara and Eduardo Noriega. Trouble is, not everyone out of the foursome is quite what they seem, and soon there’s a pesky Russian plod (Sir Ben Of Kingsley) hot on their trail as they become wrapped up in deception and death.
Anderson will start shooting in Russia, Lithuania and Beijing from 11 December. All aboard for terror!
