X-Men: Apocalypse shows off X-Mansion and new uniforms
Anyone with even a passing interest in the X-Men franchise knows that Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters serves as somewhat of an anchor. Mutants find sanctuary within its walls, and villains do their best to slay those students and/or blow it up. It's an important location. In the lead up to X-Men: Apocalypse, Coldwell Banker and Fox have cooked up some promos, shining a spotlight on Xavier's grand abode. The top one plays like an actual commercial, while the second is a behind-the-scenes look:
It's all fine and dandy showing us around the latest additions to Xavier's school - but won't most of them get blown up in the movie? Maybe that's the point. Get all excited for a new library and then have it cruelly blown to pieces. A harsh life lesson.
Along with those two videos comes a detailed look at the X-Men's latest costumes. Forget the black, cumbersome ones they typically wear. These are cut from a different cloth - literally! - as each of the newest recruits dons an outfit much more in line with their comic book counterparts. We've seen them briefly in trailers but this still gives a clean view of all the youngsters gathered together. Interesting that Storm's in there. Is this shot before she joins Apocalypse's ranks, or after she potentially defects from his villainous gang?
Directed by Bryan Singer and starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Oscar Isaac, Jennifer Lawrence, Olivia Munn, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, and Hugh Jackman, X-Men: Apocalypse will now be released in UK cinemas on May 18, 2016 before making its way to US theatres on May 27, 2016.
