X-Men: Days Of Future Past reveals new Quicksilver image
Simon Kinberg explains the character’s role in the story
X-Men: Days Of Future Past has released a new image online, giving us a good look at Evan Peters’ Quicksilver in action.
The new image sees him dashing horizontally across a wall, presumably on the brink of taking down that rather tense-looking security guard.
Meanwhile, screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg has been discussing what we can expect from the character, and how he fits in with the rest of the film.
“That is the bulk of Quicksilver’s presence in this film,” says Kinberg, referring to the section of the story in which Wolverine travels to meet the young Xavier and Magneto.
“They need somebody who can help them get in and out of somewhere. And the idea is that Logan knew him in the future and so they go to try to find his younger self.”
“The way we conceived him is a sort of an ADD kid. Everything he does is just popping and zipping around. He doesn’t take anything seriously. He’s not in a situation for more than a few seconds. So it infused the movie with an energy that was really useful for us.”
Directed by Bryan Singer and co-starring Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Hugh Jackman, X-Men: Days Of Future Past will open in the UK on 22 May 2014.
