Microsoft can't stop releasing Xbox One bundles, lets you make your own
Microsoft went on a bundle blitz over the holidays, and it shows no signs of stopping in the New Year. The company showed off two new Xbox One bundles on the official Major Nelson blog on Tuesday, one of which offers a unique choose-your-own game option.
The $349 Xbox One 500GB Name Your Game Bundle includes a system, a controller, and a download voucher good for claiming one of four games: Forza Motorsport 6, Rare Replay, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, or Rise of the Tomb Raider. All four of those games were already offered in bundles of their own, but you may have trouble finding them after the holiday season. Or you may just want a standard 500GB console instead of one of those expensive 1TB models. Either way, they'll start shipping out on January 12 in the UK and in late January in the US.
Speaking of those expensive 1TB models, the $399 Xbox One Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege Bundle includes a system with expanded storage, the online shooter, and downloads for Rainbow Six Vegas and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. The latter two are Xbox 360 games, though you can play them thanks to Xbox One backwards compatibility. The Rainbow Six Siege bundle is available now.
Microsoft first introduced Xbox One's $349 price point in a holiday 2014 discount, then made it the new standard in early 2015. The prices on these bundles seem to indicate that another permanent drop isn't in the cards, despite a similar discount over the 2015 holiday season.

Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo.
