Zack Snyder and David S Goyer will return for Man Of Steel sequel
Justice League movie also in development
Much of the talk surrounding a potential Justice League movie has suggested that the likelihood of such a project is dependent on how well Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel performs at the box office.
However, according to a report from Deadline , not only is a Justice League movie in the works, but Warner has already given the green light for Snyder and David S. Goyer to return for Man Of Steel 2 .
It sounds as though the studio has seen enough to be convinced of Snyder's capabilities with the property, with no need to wait and examine the box office performance of the first film.
The report also claims that Goyer will also be writing a Superman-centric Justice League movie, following comments from Snyder that such a project was very much a possibility.
“Do the DC characters exist in the universe I created?" asks Snyder, in an interview with Hero Complex . "The answer is yes. In my mind, we have this fantastic character of Superman. It’s not madness that there would be others."
“Now, that being said, does a Justice League movie exist now? No. Whether or not I ever get to make that movie, I don’t know… What is real is that there’s a crack — a foot — in the door. That’s promising. The door is definitely open.”
Finally, Deadline's report also claims that producer and story co-writer Christopher Nolan's role won't be as 'full blown' for the sequel, which isn't surprising, given that he's working on a brand new sci-fi epic, Interstellar .
Directed by Snyder and co-starring Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon and Amy Adams, Man Of Steel opens in the UK on 14 June 2013.
