Zak Penn's Young X-Men?
“It’s not what you’d expect...”
With Wolverine and Magneto confirmed, and rumours of a David O Russell Mystique movie flying around (seriously), anyone would think that X-Men: The Last Stand made a boatload of money at the box office.
Wait, it did didn’t it? Which is probably why its co-writer Zak Penn (don’t judge him too harshly, he was also involved in X2. Oh, and Elektra, so please feel free to hate him again) has been enlisted to add another possible future franchise to the list of X-spin-offs, Young X-Men.
“The original idea was to have me do a young X-Men spin-off, a spin-off of the young X-Men characters. But someone came up with a pretty interesting idea which I can't discuss. I was pretty taken by it, as was the studio. I have to give him credit, it was this guy who worked... a lot with me on X3,” says Penn.
“He came up with how to do a young X-Men movie which is not what you'd expect. We'll see.”
We will see, Zak. And when you’ve finished with that, how about an X-OAP film? Just a thought...
