Zombie makes Halloween sequel official
Rob’s directing H2 for next October
It’s been living in rumourville for weeks, but now Dimension Films has announced that Rob Zombie has officially come aboard to make the sequel to his Halloween reboot.
H2 (sounds like a Hummer to us) will kick off shooting in March, reports Variety, as he and the studio want the movie in cinemas for October.
Dimension was planning at one point to give the sequel to other directors, but Zombie says he’s glad he decided to come back for the challenge: "I was so burned out. But I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again. Now, we'll be hauling ass, and that's the problem making a movie called Halloween: If you come out Nov. 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I'd be fine."
Different direction
Like his first stab – no pun intended – at taking on Michael Myers’ legacy, Zombie’s second Halloween outing won’t follow the exact same plot as the second original film.
Next up: John Carpenter gets his revenge by performing one of Zombie's albums entirely on a small Casio keyboard.
