Ubisoft Montpellier creative director Jean-Philippe Caro has said on Twitter that the studio’s working on a prototype for a ZombiU sequel.
@kingrex32 thank you for your interest in zombiu. The team is working hard on a prototype. its too soon to tell you more.May 11, 2013
As pointed out on NeoGAF, ZombiU writer Antony Johnston also hinted on Twitter last month that a sequel to the Wii U launch game may be on the cards.
@idstonepapers It would indeed. *says no more*April 18, 2013
Earlier this year, ZombiU producer Guillaume Brunier told NintendoWorldReport that Ubisoft considered including cooperative gameplay in ZombiU but "ruled it out quickly as we thought we could not deliver it on time". Were DLC or a sequel released, however, he said exploring "how to bring a cooperative experience and still keep fear and tension is a question we would love to address".
Last year, prior to the game’s release, Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing Tony Key told IGN that new technology like Microsoft's SmartGlass and the link-up between PS3 and Vita meant a port of the Wii U game was certainly a future possibility. It wouldn’t be surprising to see a potential sequel released on multiple platforms either.
